"From Commitment to Action: Delivering on NCDs and Health in the Post-2015 Era"
Against the backdrop of the 68th World Health Assembly, the NCD Alliance will hold on 18 May a high-level panel discussion on the means to deliver on ambitious targets for health and NCDs in the post-2015 development agenda.
The event will provide an opportunity to explore a credible game plan for preventing and managing NCDs as a cross-cutting development issue.
Discussions will consider the state of global and national health architectures; means of implementing an NCD target; sustainable financing and potential accountability mechanisms at all levels.
Speakers include Dr Ala Alwan, Regional Director of WHO Office of the Eastern Mediterranean Region; Dr Timothy Evans, Senior Director, Health, Nutrition & Population, World Bank; and Ms Brenda Killen, Deputy Director of Development Co-operation Directorate at OECD. The event will be moderated by Dr Richard Horton, Editor in Chief, The Lancet.
