This virtual training aimed to introduce alliances in the Advocacy Institute seed programme to project cycle management and grant proposal writing practices to efficiently and timely respond to funding opportunities when they arise. Session 1 focused on project development, including generation of ideas, gathering of collaborators and turning ideas into high quality grant proposals using real life examples.
Through the following joint recommendations, the HIV and NCD communities have identified 15 catalytic and transformative solutions to achieve the best possible health outcomes for people living with and affected by HIV and NCDs globally and contribute towards achieving UHC.
This workshop brought together and mobilised many members of the NCD Alliance network ahead of the annual Global Week for Action campaign. It provided an overview of this year's campaign theme on financing and investment, encouraged the sharing of advocacy experiences on financing from different counties/settings and revealed more about how members can engage with the campaign to build momentum. It combined the audiences of the three Peer Learning Advocacy Networks (PLANs) and the Advocacy Institute Seed Programme Training, both of which are open to NCD Alliance member organisations and alliances.

The NCD Alliance’s vision, mission and organisational structure propels and obliges the organisation to engage and partner with a wide range of people and organisations who share its goals - including member organisations, international agencies, governments, NGOs, academia, foundations, relevant private sector entities, and the general public. It is NCDA’s belief that making prevention and control of NCDs a priority on a global scale demands a whole of society response, with engagement from a range of relevant sectors and organisation.
This practical guide aims to provide NCD civil society with an understanding of the steps to plan and conduct successful advocacy campaigns, leveraging examples from NCD Alliance’s global network of national and regional NCD alliances.
